A Home That Floats When the Water Comes
This home sits on land like any other, but its foundation is a buoyant hull. When floodwater rises, the whole structure floats gently upward along fixed guide posts, then settles back down once the water recedes.
Why this could happen
Amphibious construction already exists in flood-prone regions of the Netherlands and Louisiana, built and tested at real scale. Florida's canal-heavy, flood-exposed geography is a plausible next place for this kind of construction to spread, especially on repeatedly flooded lots.
